Dragon Tattoos as Universal Tattoos

By Jackson Dylan

In the early days, the Romans and Greeks employed body marks such as tattoos on gladiators, slaves and prisoners as a means to identify them from the rest of the villagers but in the recent year tattooing has become fashion statement and is generally common among males. The more tattoos on the body, the tougher the image but that too has changed as soon as awareness and freedom of expression took on a new level. Tattooing has also become common with women too and has become an excellent mode of showing the world their feelings and interests, even their sensuality.

Of all the mythical creatures, the dragon is the most universal and is prominently featured in hundreds of cultures that represent the elements and the four points of the compass. In the Far East dragons symbolizes Water, Earth, Underworld and Sky and in the West it is more often a early enemy with whom combat is considered the ultimate supreme test. The dragon is a culturally far-ranging character whose apparent bad temper should be interpreted as simply amoral, neither good nor evil. Nature nurtures as well as destroys and so too does the dragon and probably for this reason its meaning as a symbol is not always consistent. Rain, lightning, floods, comets in the night sky – all the chaos and uncertainty of the Universe can be represented by the symbol of the dragon.

The image of dragon is the prototype of dinosaur. It has always been imagined breathing fire. Those are called fire dragon. There are water dragon tattoos also that causes the springs to bubble up, but also drowned people. But whatever be the type of dragon it may be, powerful dragons are often balanced with other tattoo designs that symbolize aspects of yin and yang. The several aspects of yin and yang reflects that no quality of its opposite, nor so pure that it does not contain its opposite in a diminished form. Although the fire dragon tattoo is thought to conquer all things and water dragon tattoo represents fears or repressed feelings or emotions. To the Chinese, the fire-spitting dragon was principally associated with lightning, and by extension to thunder and rainmaking, which made it a symbol of fertility while the Ancient Emperors and Celtic kings adopted the dragon as a symbol of the rhythm of existence that ensured order and prosperity. According to Jungian psychologists the water dragon symbolizes the deeper reaches of our subconscious.

As with most cultural and artistic styles and trends, tattoos and tattooing have endured various cycles of popularity, waxing and waning over the years, but never far from the people's imagination.

Tattoos Gun - Purchasing a Tattoo Gun

By Mat Fay

The most important instrument that a tattoo artist can invest in to have a successful business is a tattoo gun. Without it, they are nothing. Those who are serious about their trade will want nothing but the best, or at least the best that they can afford. Before buying such a key piece of equipment it is important to do some serious research to ensure you know what you are buying.

First off, you will want to research the various materials that a tattoo gun can be composed of. You don’t want your gun to be flimsy or break, so go for a quality metal such as iron, brass or copper. This will give a nice weight in your hand and will stay steady while you work. If you are still practising then you may want to choose a cheaper, less quality metal so your tattoo gun is more affordable, but if you are done practicing and ready to explore the art of tattooing you will want something of a higher quality which will last you for many years.

The next decision is the size of the gun and variety. Normally a tattoo gun is either built for drawing lines or for shading, although there are machines out there that can do both with adjustments. The gun you choose depends on your experience level and how comfortable you are with fine tuning your machine. Generally only tattoo artists who have been around for many years will go for the all-in-one model as it requires a lot of tuning and needs a practised hand.

Those who are just starting out may want to look for tattooing kits which contain everything you need to get started in the business, it will save you money and help you figure out just what type of equipment you need in the future.

There are also different coil sizes available which in turn handle different needle sizes. For example, 8 wrap coils are usually used for outlines using smaller needles, while 10 wrap coils are for 8+ needle groups. It just depends on what type of needles you are going to use. As you build your business you will probably start adding on new instruments as your clientele grows and you begin taking on more complicated designs.

Once you have your tattoo gun, or guns, you will be one step closer to opening your own tattoo parlour, or joining someone else’s. The next step is to start stocking up on supplies such as inks, needles, tubes, machines, power supply and sterilization supplies.

Design Your Own Tattoo with Nice Tattoos Design

By Ryan Dodson

Getting yourself a tattoo is a creative way to reflect your individuality. Oftentimes, you probably notice a lot of people who all have the same tattoos that are either a common design or the exact design! This is so much a shame as tattoos are intended to reflect creativity and uniqueness.

Those who do not wish to be identical to everybody else when it relates to tattoo designs can create their own! If you think it may be difficult because you're not all that artistic, think again. With just a bit of communication, you will be able to convey your imagination about your tattoo to an experienced artist.

While this process might appear to be somewhat complex, it is genuinely not. Even if you don't have creative skills, a rough outline might be everything you need. You can find a gifted tattoo artist who will make your sketch into a flawless work of ink art. A lot of times tattoo artists get tired with drawing the same tattoos over and over again, thus by showing him or her your vision, you will assist with simulating their artistic talents.

If you can take some moments to sketch out the tattoo before you go into the tattoo shop, and you have an estimate about what it is that you want to have, it should be effortless on the creative artist to visualize your idea distinctly in their mind. If you are not artistic, cutting pictures out from magazines and matching them all up uniquely is a great way to get your thoughts across to a tattoo artist. If you are able, chalk out the ideas you acquire from looking through the pictures.

One really crucial thing to do is to make sure you and the artist are both on the very same page together before getting your tattoo. By making positive your tattoo artist recognizes what you want, you will be increasing your chances of being happy and overall satisfied with the finished work of art.

Tattoos Sexy - Sexy Tattoo Placement

By Mat Fay

You have decided that you want a tattoo, and are ready to pick out a design. Before you do this though, you need to figure out where you are putting your tattoo, as it will affect the size and context of your design. Most women like to place their tattoos somewhere sexy so they can attract attention from the opposite sex. And why not, that’s pretty much what tattoos are for right?

Here are some of the sexiest places to put a tattoo:

1.Lower back: with low-rise jeans still in style, this is the perfect place for a tattoo. Most designs in this area use somewhat of a triangular shape with the point facing down, so the eye is drawn to your lower half. This is also a great surface to put a large, sprawling tattoo, and is easy to cover up if you are going to work.

2.Upper breast: since most guys are looking there anyways, why not give them something to look at? Tattoos in this area are generally smaller, with symbols such as flowers, bees, dragonflies and butterflies being very popular.

3.Ankle: if you have great legs then an ankle tattoo is perfect, it will draw the eye to that narrow part of you and then go on from there. Again you will probably want to stick to a smaller tattoo in this area.

4.Wrist: slender, soft, and usually lightly scented, the wrist is an overlooked sexy place on our bodies. Place a small tattoo on the inside of your wrist and notice the attention you get!

5.Shoulder: show off your inner Playboy Bunny with a sexy tattoo on the back of your shoulder, and then go buy some strappy tank tops. You have a great surface where you can place a nice-sized tattoo and get noticed.

6.Back of Neck: As long as you stick with something small, this is a great location for an Asian symbol or something unique. Of course the neck is supremely sexy, and having a cute or interesting tattoo there is a great conversation starter.

There are other, more risqué place where you can put a tattoo, it just depends on who you want to see it. Here are a few suggestions:

1.Above pubic area: perfect for a small, sexy tattoo that your special someone can see.

2.Hip: low rise jeans or a bathing suit can let you show off your little friend.

3.Underneath a bra strap: there’s nothing like finding a cute tattoo on your girlfriend while she’s stripping down.

4.Inner thigh: this is definitely a members-only area, so get a symbol that he’ll really like.

5.Around belly button: there are some great tattoo patterns for this area, and it is a perfect spot if you are sporting a flat belly.

6.Tailbone: again, this spot is reserved for your special someone, so choose carefully.

A tattoo is forever, so you will want to spend a lot of time choosing your spot and your design, and then talk to a qualified tattoo artist to see if they have any suggestions or pointers.
